About us
As a project within the British Methodist Church, we do not hide that we are Christian, but we are also passionate that there is more to that statement than some of the stories the church has often told (and things we have done).
If our faith puts you off, please read this page before you head back to Google. Some of us have also been put off by church, and some of us have a difficult relationship with "God", but all of us believe in 'the bigger picture', and that we should do our best to help others.
Our ethos of "Eternity, Community, Humanity" sums up our beliefs in the teachings of Jesus - the best way to change things for the good of all people is to have an active community of those who believe that the human story contains something spiritually deeper, and the desire to help one another.
This is our passion.
Our mission
Put simply, our mission is to build a community that wants to change the world.
Our vision
As community grows, we want to provide a space for conversations that explore the spiritual side of life, a core part of which involves the enrichment of all people.
The teachings of the historical Jesus remind us that our care and love of others are a central part of what it means to be human in a spiritual world. Our vision is to draw together a community of people whose faith in something greater than us (and we are not prescriptive about what that something is) leads us to love others as we are loved.
For us that involves living out the words of Jesus, and we hope that if you join us in loving others as community, you might also come to understand the love of Jesus for you, and know him personally, but nor is that essential to us changing the world together.
A central part of our vision is that, whether you believe he was the Son of God, a prophet, a teacher, or just a man who said some wise things, if we all truly follow his teachings, the world is a better place, and he would be pleased with that.
